The Jerusalem Post newspaper featured a front page article on Thursday citing Lifeshield. The Op-ed by Sherwin Pomerantz titled Access to a bomb shelter is a citizen's right, exposed the fact that 3.2 millon Israelis DO NOT have access to bomb shelters. Pomerantz explained that some NGOs are helping to solve this problem. "One, called Lifeshield, provides ready-to-use shelters constructed in Israel by leading manufacturers of steel-reinforced concrete products, which can be deployed quickly. The 1000+ Lifeshield shelters currently in use throughout the country have been donated by caring individuals and organizations from around the world, including Jewish and Christian groups." Warning!! If you're watching CNN for your news source about the events in the Middle East, then be advised that CNN is reporting on behalf of the Iranian regime and the Hezbollah terrorist army. It's not my opinion - these are official statements from CNN correspondents in Iran and Lebanon. When CNN admits that they are reporting "with the permission of the Government of Iran" and "with the permission of Hezbollah", they are sharing inflammatory anti-Israeli biases with their 50 million viewers.

Jim and Anne Bevis torpedoed into my life exactly fourteen years ago in March 2012 at the AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington DC. Arlene Samuels (then the Southeast Region Outreach Director) asked me to speak at the Christian Delegates Dinner, and that's when I met the Bevis power couple. Jim and Anne ran CSR Ministries and Jim was MidSouth Director of PastorCare - two incredible organisations that work with pastors - providing counselling, revival, healing and resources to help those who carry the heavy burden of leadership. And their passion for Israel was boundless. Anne and Jim talked about Israel with literally anyone and everyone. And they loved Lifeshield. Several years ago, when Anne and Jim dedicated a protective shelter they donated to Kibbutz Dorot in Southern Israel, Anne broke into song, and we were all mesmerized by her gift. Click here to watch. Jim invited me to visit him at his home in Florence, Alabama, where I received a "red carpet" welcome, and the mayor bestowed the "keys" to the city.

Jim Bevis died on February 21st, 2026 surrounded by Anne and his daughters. His daughter Robyn wrote to me these words: "My Father loved you and the work of Operation Lifeshield. It was his honor to work with you in a small way. My father also cultivated a deep love for the Nation of Israel in each one of his daughter's hearts. He was a good friend of Israel up until his final breath."

May the memory of Jim Bevis be a blessing forever.

The power of art cannot be underestimated. A week and a half ago, during the Purim festivities, and intense missile attacks from Iran, two artists from the renowned Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem set out to change the mood of two Lifeshield shelters. The first location was at a counselling and trauma therapy program in Central Israel, and the second was at community gathering place at a moshav in the South. Watch the videos above to see the amazing transformation of our strong shelters becoming beautiful artistic creations. We have now added mural design as an option when donating a shelter, so please contact us if you're interested. Thank you to Meital Bowman, Creative Director for organising the shelter mural painting project.

Iranian Attack: Israelis head to bomb shelters

Israelis spent Shabbat in bomb shelters. Families and friends and neighbours shared their protected rooms with those lacking shelter. In many cases, people walking outside were forced to take cover behind walls or lie facedown on the ground.

Please watch the video message below from Lifeshield Executive Director, below.

Surprisingly, a major pro-Israel philanthropic foundation in the United States Midwest wrote to us that their Israel Office claimed that bomb shelters were provided by the Israeli Government, and not from philanthropies. We responded that their Israel Office was wrong, and completely out of touch with reality. We forwarded a copy of the recent Comptroller's Report affirming that half of the population lacked access to private and public bomb shelters, and that citizens rely heavily on donations from supporters. We know this assessment to be true, and we are proud of our (almost) 20 years of keeping Israelis and tourists and foreign workers safe.
