Shmuel Bowman

Executive Director, Lifeshield


Background and Early Career

Shmuel Bowman was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, where he worked as a professional Gerontologist.

In 1993, he made Aliyah to Israel.


Lifeshield

Following the Second Lebanon War in 2006, Shmuel devoted himself to raising funds for protective shelter projects.  Lifeshield was

born that year, and in 2009 Shmuel became Executive Director. 

On his watch, over 1000 accessible bomb shelters have been deployed, safeguarding tens of thousands of Israeli lives.

Shmuel is recognized as an expert in the field of passive defense solutions.


Personal Interests and Family

Shmuel is a Sofer STaM (Ordained Torah Scribe) and has a deep appreciation for the Hebrew letters. He and his wife Leah, a licensed Israeli Tour Guide, reside in Efrat, Israel. Together they have five children, two grandchildren, a son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, and two cats.


Recent Developments

Since the October 7th massacre and terrorist attack on Southern Israel, Lifeshield has played a leading role in providing urgent shelters to strategic locations in both Southern and Northern Israel, as well as supporting other critical security projects.
